Our Current Board of Directors:

Grace Patenall, (Chair) is a mother to a daughter and 2 sons. She has been practicing law for 20 years and, when she is not taking her children to one of their many extra-curricular activities, enjoys exercise, reading and spending time outside.  She cherishes time with her family and loves being part of the East York community.  Grace joined our board in 2012.

 

 

 

 

Stefanie McPherson, Secretary is passionate fundraising leader with an eye for strategic brand alignment.  For over a decade, she has managed corporate relationships with some of SickKids’ largest partners, driving engagement and fundraising results to further the mission of SickKids. She has extensive experience in developing retail and cause campaigns, inspiring employee groups and consumers alike, through national programs and local activations.  Today, she leads the Core Corporate Team at SickKids Foundation, working with companies to activate their purpose, deliver positive business impact and transform child health.  Stefanie holds an Honours Business Administration Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.  She attended EECC programs when her children were babies and joined our board in 2014.

Daniel Segal, Treasurer is a father of two young children residing in the Woodbine-Danforth area for more than 8 years. He is a entrepreneurial millennial with an interest in real-estate. Daniel is CPA-CGA and is the director of HandyTax Inc., a tax service for disabled Canadians and their families.  Daniel joined EECC’s board in 2015.

 

Tina Lines  is parent to an active three year old. She has worked within the not-for-profit sector for more than 15 years, and specializes in program and fund development. She is passionate about child-centered programs locally and internationally.  Tina joined our board in 2014.

 

Sarah Shody is a local mother of a 3-year-old daughter and another on the way. Sarah is a lawyer with over 10 years’ experience, and she enjoys cooking, gardening, and reading. Her claim to fame is that she once lost on Jeopardy!

 

 

Meredith Briglio first joined the EECC community as a participant, attending programs with her two children.  Prior to staying home with them full-time, she developed employee communications with focuses on engagement and recruitment.  In the fall of 2019, she begins the Clinical Training component of her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) designation, completing her Clinical Training through the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic at the International Breastfeeding Centre.  In her spare time, Meredith enjoys staying active, cooking and eating delicious food with her family and friends.  She joined the Board in May 2017.

Sloane Bernard is a mother to two very busy children, aged 5 and 3, and currently pregnant with #3.  She is a lawyer with Intact Insurance.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, knitting, reading and spending time strolling the neighbourhood with her family.  Sloane joined our board in May 2017.

 

 

 

Rachael Owen-Worden is a mom to a 6yr old girl and 3 yr old boy. Both kids have enjoyed the programs at EECC. Rachael has been a Realtor in the GTA for over 16 years. When she has a spare minute she enjoys baking, crochet and reading. Rachael joined the board in 2018.

 

 

Rosalyn Wise first attended EECC with her oldest (now nearly 7) and has attended regularly since then both as parent and as a home daycare provider. She is a mother to two boys and a girl. As an elementary teacher she is passionate about early childhood development.

 

 

 

Vanessa Stevenson has been attending EECC programs since 2016 and joined the board in May 2018. She is a soon-to-be mother of three and a full-time lawyer at Intact Insurance. In her spare time, Vanessa reads for her monthly book club, travels, and spends time with her family.

 

 

 

Jessica Grant is a mother to a very active (almost) 3 year old who loves EECC and periodically takes it upon himself to co-lead songs during circle time.  She is a lawyer in private practice focusing in civil litigation.  Jessica joined the board in summer 2018.

 

 

 

Craig Smith worked as an elevator mechanic for many years.  He’s an avid animal lover and takes care of Layla.
